Welcome to Fat Cake City

Vetkoek (pronounced fet-cook), literally meaning ‘fat cake’ in English, is one of South Africa’s favourite traditional dishes. It is very easy to make but, we at Fat Cake City, pride ourselves on our unique recipe. Our Fat Cakes can be eaten just as they are, or filled with cheese, a hamburger patty, bacon or anything else you can think of that tastes nice. At a braai, a traditional South African barbecue, Fat Cakes may be served alongside boerewors.
